6 TIPS TO CREATE AND MARKET AN E-BOOKLET TODAY
Dear Friends,
This month I've been thinking a lot about how important models are. Models, or examples that have a specific easily definable format, can come in the guise of products, books, movies and more. And of course, people are models. It's a bit harder to say a person has a "format," though the ones we admire have qualities or ways of being that we admire.
I used models when I was a tennis pro and have been doing so ever since. I would ride my bike over to Stanford University and watch the men's team practice for inspiration. Afterwards I'd play better. I found I could get into "The Zone" where I left conscious thinking behind and let my body take over.
A client of mine said he learned how to water ski by watching videos. He applied the same idea to speaking by studying speakers he admired and taking note of the techniques he wanted to incorporate into his own style. Now he's a successful, sought after speaker in his own right. He took this idea of modeling behavior one step further when he wrote a book proposal in the format of a current bestseller.
Then modeling other best-selling authors, he called me for media coaching. Together we worked on developing his signature stories and key points to engage editors at the top New York publishing houses. Again, as soon as I showed him a few formats and templates for telling tales to create an experience people would remember, he easily mirrored those models. Because he was dedicated to his craft, his work and his book, he spent concentrated time to hone his already great stories into stellar ones.
Last week he impressed the New York editors so much that there was a bidding war for his book. Four publishers wanted it -- badly. Of course, only one publisher won it.
He will be paid a generous six-figure advance. The publisher is billing him as a rising star and his book will be positioned as their leading hit title.
Do you want to model this kind of success?
I have room for *one* more client in my schedule starting next month. Are you the kind of person who is willing to do what it takes to go to the next level of success quickly and easily? Will you dedicate yourself wholeheartedly to your purpose so your message can reach your selected audience or thousands or millions of people?
Do you have a book you want to pitch to an editor? A book you want to be a bestseller? A business idea you want to pitch to a Venture Capitalist for first or second round funding? A new client whose account you want? Stories or points you want to hone for a presentation? Email me a *few* lines about what you want to accomplish and the nature of your project. In 2 weeks I'll respond to let you know if you're chosen.
Please don't be disappointed if I can't work with you. I turn down over 60% of people who contact me. I will do my best to refer you to someone more appropriate.
And now, I want to share one more idea about modeling.
When you want to do something to increase or appreciate your happiness/success look to those people and publications you admire, and study the form or template they use. Finding a structure to hang your ideas upon is an incredibly freeing experience--especially when it's the first time you've done something.
Last month in newsletter #15 we focused on marketing your ezine/newsletter. Then I was thinking, what if someone isn't interested in writing every month, but they want to develop an ongoing income stream. The answer? Write a booklet in addition to, or instead of, a newsletter. To do so I suggest you read number 2 below. I think it's the most important tip I can give you today.
Warmly,
Susan

6 Tips to Create and Market an E-booklet Today
1. Re-package your existing materials.
If you have information (and you all do), but not the time or patience to create an e-booklet, Paulette Ensign's team can create a booklet from your materials.
http://www.tipsproducts.com/services1.htm. You just need to supply: product catalogs, brochures, press releases, articles, or technical data. Simple. Do it today.
2. Model a best-selling example.
If you're ready to write your own booklet it's a good idea to buy one or two of them as a model. At $4.77 per booklet you can't lose. There are lots of subjects to choose from -- technology to spirituality. Paulette will sell your e-booklet and give you 53% royalties. Check it out at:
http://www.tipsproducts.com/afaq.html. She's helped individuals and companies in a variety of industries to increase their bottom line 13-50% with their booklets. Let her do the same for you.
3. Learn the step-by-step process through a teleclass.
What if you're ready to get started but don't know where to begin? You can take Paulette's FREE one-hour booklet teleclass called, "How to Promote Your Business with Booklets," which she offers weekly. Register by going to:
http://www.teleclass.com.
4. Create a twist on a hot topic.
Tweak the angle of one of your existing articles, tip sheets or press releases by following the news trends in your industry. Keep up with the latest stories of your choice (these sites will give you new ideas daily.)

5. Make your points with pictures.
People learn more when all of their senses are engaged. Use stories, anecdotes, facts and illustrations to keep and sustain interest. Hire my friend, the brilliant humorist, John Grimes. He's a Cartoooonist/Humorous Illustrator.
Feminist Susan Faludi called him, "A man without a swagger." He saves the swagger for his cartoons which liven up publications from
http://www.iSyndicate.com,
http://www.techissues.net, Hewlett Packard to Reader's Digest.
Email John or visit him at
http://www.grimescartoons.com. Prepare to be amused.
P.S. I credit John with teaching me almost everything I know about publicity. He hired me to work on a book (which became a bestseller) when I first began my marketing career. He has been a godsend of a guide ever since.
6. Sell your booklet on as many sites as possible.
There are thousands of places to sell your products on the net. Schedule time for the next two weeks to discover sites that will promote your booklet and let them do the work for you. This is one to get you started:
http://www.thefinancialgenius.com. I've mentioned
http://www.booklocker.com before. They pay 50% for booklets, 70% for ebooks. Two places to begin.
***Tell me about your success with booklets and ezines, and if possible I'll place your good news in my next newsletter. As always it must be useful to other people to make it here in print. All the best!
