I suppose I shouldn’t have been, but I was shocked and saddened to hear about the kind of comments that Aimee Lou Wood, the shining star of The White Lotus and Sex Education received criticizing her buck teeth and lack of Botox. [The Hollywood Reporter]
I’m saddened to live in a world where we can’t love and accept each other as we are in all our glorious quirkiness, messiness and beauty.

I’m saddened to live in a world where being a popular brand is more important than being a good person.
I’m saddened to live in a world where one mishap, misstep, or mistake is cause for being canceled.
I’m saddened to live in a world where people feel entitled to criticize and comment on women’s faces and bodies with their righteous judgment.
I’m saddened to live in a world where 10-year-old’s dream of success is simply to be rich.
I’m saddened to live in a world where we can no longer have civilized, intelligent conversations about our political differences —where respect, understanding and open-mindedness have been lost.
I’m saddened to live in a world where likes online matter more than love in person.

I’m saddened to live in a world where I have to hesitate to post this given fear of backlash, meanness and threats.
